Dean Loucks fine art new piano shot!
AT THE NEW YORK ARTEXPO 2010

DEAN LOUCKS ART IS MUSIC TO YOUR EARS--AND EYES
AT THE NEW YORK ARTEXPO 2010

The Dean Loucks Fine Art line, making its debut at the New York Artexpo March 25-28, may strike a familiar "chord" with art and music fans alike.

While Loucks' art is unusual in both look and painting technique, he strikes a new "note" by including a custom-painted, Semi-Concert Grand Sauter piano in his sizable exhibit. Represented in the show by Global Fine Art, Inc. Loucks was selected because of his fresh approach and the customized piano paint is one example of the 22 other fine art pieces which will be on display. Attendees at the show will see Loucks' work "framing" the registration area at the entrance and also in booth #919. Loucks' "Grand" entrance will be on display at Center Court at Pier 94 where musical artists Allison Brewster Franzetti, Benita Mushulam and other musicians will play the Sauter piano at selected times. A schedule will be available at Loucks' booth and at Center Court.

Del Bloss III, Vice President of Global Fine Art, Inc., located in South Bend, Indiana, met Loucks and was immediately impressed by the artist and the complexity of his work. "Dean's work is exciting and fresh - we feel New York Artexpo is the ideal location to introduce the his fine art--especially with the piano becoming an active part of his display," stated Bloss," We arranged to show his artwork on walls near the entrance and in a booth, but liked the opportunity to be part of a participatory musical exhibit as well; it demonstrates his flexibility and adventurous approach to art. New and established art collectors will be captivated as Dean brings his creativeness to new levels of art expression."

The piano acquisition and display was arranged by Noble Art Pianos, of Easton, Pennsylvania, a company specializing in sales of Sauter, Petrof, Hailun and Ravenscroft pianos, among others. President Peter Becker met Loucks and was impressed by the "new" quality of his artistry and the potential of introducing his work to the fine art and music community. "Painting on pianos is not new in itself-it has been done for over 100 years, but Dean's work is 'now,' new, contemporary and tasteful," Becker states, "In the past, some treatments were gaudy--he paints things I would want in my home."

Global Fine Art also added new frame designs for Loucks' artwork which gives the modern mounting a more "fine art feel" for enthusiasts adding to their collections. Some of his new works feature a touch of romance with a heart theme and some have a clear-coat glossy finish, complimenting the sharply contrasting and blending colors.

Loucks, whose artistry spans a broad spectrum of "moving" art including motorcoaches painted for rock and country stars, powerboats, helicopters and motorcycles, as well as his own interpretation of "canvas" works, had an idea to paint pianos when his chance meeting of Becker brought the concept through to fruition.

Becker arranged delivery of the Sauter piano to Loucks' studio in Elkhart, Indiana and a complex process of taking the piano apart, painting it and putting it back together again ensued--with the added pressure of having the piano completed by the show date, and in perfect condition to be played for entertainment and promotional purposes. "The task was daunting, but well-within our scope of work," said Loucks, "We are used to deadlines and I am so enthused about the show--I have it planned to perfection-The New York Artexpo has been my focus and obsession! I have been able to expand the scope of my work because of this opportunity."

Loucks personally creates each paint design, then executes it in exacting detail with the tools of his original large scale paintings--a paint gun, a proprietary automotive paint color line, air brush and razor blades. Loucks terms his fine art style, the art of paint removal, rather than paint application. He uses reducing chemicals to blend, move and fade his selected colors, then removes the paint from areas to create detail and color effects. He creates sharp definition with a razor blade and in the finished version, images seem to emerge from the composite boards on which he works--colorful, alive, brilliant in color and deep in tone and texture. Themes range from abstract to whimsical, portraits to thematic. Martini glasses and fish mix with florals and hundred dollar bills, each individual and ever evolving. Limited edition prints are available and because of his unique duplication technique and integral frame system, it is difficult to discern prints from originals except for the textures created by the layers of paint applied and removed.

In Loucks' sister company, The Art of Design, his paint schemes are translated onto vehicles, vessels and other large "canvasses" with the assistance of his team of artisans who work in his 15,000 s.f. plant to bring The Art of Design to life. His fine art line is more individual, as each work is a reflection of his imagination and talent, rather than an interpretation of his clients' preferences. Loucks' art in the New York ArtExpo represents that personal touch, including the design created for Noble Art Pianos. "This work is a 'step up' of the fine finish that exists on a piano. It can be something simple and new or something exotic-it will depend on what each piano evokes in me," Loucks states.

Dean Loucks Art will be on display from March 25-28 at Pier 94 at the 32nd International ArtExpo New York, from the entry display, to booth #919, to the Center Court where the Sauter Semi Concert Grand will offer an entertaining art exhibit. NO MORE BORING BIRDS!

DEAN LOUCKS' ENSTROM DESIGN FEATURED AT
HOUSTON HELI-EXPO 2010 February 20-23
Pilots looking to make a personal or professional statement with their helicopter, plane-or any other toy--need look no further than the Heli-Expo in Houston.  Renowned painter Dean Loucks will display ways to "Bling Your Bird" at the Heli-Expo, February 20-23 as the exemplary paint scheme for this prestigious brand.

When Loucks purchased his own Enstrom 480 B turbine, it became more than ameans of transportation -- it became a flying NAZ In- water Boat Show  advertisement for his company,
The Art of Design (TAOD), and his unique style and talent.  The first thing Loucks did was give his Enstrom a "TAOD touch."  He used the helicopter's lines to guide his use of black stripes and accents over a base of his preferred, dynamic red-one from his own signature line of colors developed for Akzo Nobel.  With that brilliantly painted calling card, his helicopter enabled him to travel easily to various events while giving the TAOD bird a great deal of visibility and recognition.

The Elkhart, Indiana resident creates distinctive custom paint schemes for clients across the country, ranging from owners of helicopters and motorcoaches to world-class powerboats and motorcycles.  As a life-long, self-taught artist, he creates inspired designs that incorporate the client's color preferences, lifestyle and use.  His team of artisans then executes the work under his close supervision and participation, creating flying, rolling and roaring works of art.

Among the first helicopter customers to see  NAZ In- water Boat Show
his work was Steve Mann of Mann Construction, Inc. of West Monroe, Louisiana.  He had heard of Loucks through a referral and also heard that he was fast becoming known for his line of fine art.  For Mann's helicopter, Loucks used a "Spider" theme in vibrant red with black web detailing.  Mann liked the paint scheme so much that he asked for a painting of it, which Dean delivered, showing the realistic helicopter hovering over surreal rooftops.  Dean Loucks Fine Art line has the same distinctive style as his large -- work murals, using the same "tools of the trade" including an automotive paint gun, air brush and reducing chemicals.  The bleeding of subtle background tones makes the red helicopter jump from the painting as if flying!  This helicopter is so impressive that Enstrom asked Mann if they could use it as the company's display chopper at the Heli Expo and he gladly complied.

One of the many helicopters Loucks has painted is another Enstrom 480 B for
Hans Ashbaugh, head of his hometown's Elkhart Brass company.  The 100-year old, 4th-generation owned company is well-known in commercial construction internationally for creating top-quality fire protection equipment for fire departments, drilling companies, the marine industry and various military and government entities.    Ashbaugh knew of Dean's work and asked him to paint his new helicopter since as he was not fond of its original colors. Ashbaugh's helicopter features Dean's signature Akzo Nobel automotive red with curved black accent stripes that give the helicopter a fluid, in-motion appearance even sitting on the tarmac.  Says Enstrom's Director of Sales Tracey Biegler, "Wow!"

"Enstrom has great respect for Dean Loucks' work.  We've had numerous customers choose to work through TAOD for the fantastic results that they can then fly home.  Due to the 'WOW' factor that his paint schemes provide, we have chosen to bring in a fantastic 280FX, owned by Steve Mann, to display in our booth at HAI, in Houston," says Biegler, "From past results I know that this will provide the 'stop in your tracks' results and fill our booth with helicopter and TAOD enthusiasts."

PRESS RELEASE

Dean Loucks Fine Art
Anchored Firmly in the Powerboat Community
While Dean's artistic career, interests and talents have spanned the range of air-brushed T-shirts and jeans  Bob and Holly Nixon's New Boat to fine art originals, the performance boat market gave great rise to his fame and success.  Over the past decade, Dean Loucks' signature on a boat has been a symbol of prestige, demonstrating that the owner's spirit and message were built into the boat.  From the colors and paint scheme to the carpeting, upholstery and theme, Dean Loucks interpreted what the owner wanted the boat to "say" as it cruised or made its way to the dock.

Powerboat Family & Friends - A Heart as Big as His Canvas

The powerboat community has certainly embraced Dean's new art venture through involvement in the Platinum Powerboat Club,  the "Club with Heart" that raises money for children in need. Loucks Wish Tshirt Dean, as one of the ten founding members of the club organized by Joy Schou, designed the club's striking logo and has cooperated in a series of events. Starting with Lake Norman Wish 2009, a Poker Run and an auction to benefit the North Carolina Make-A-Wish Foundation, Dean donated a painting for the auction which he also incorporated into a design for the event T-shirt. The Lake Norman Wish 2009 raised over $14,000 and gave 135 "wish rides" to seriously ill children and their families.  "May Flowers" was purchased by Bill Duckworth for $1,700 and T-shirt sales, which featured Jim Wiley's 440 Nor-Tech Roadster on the front and May Flowers and the Statement! Powerboat on the back, also contributed greatly to the monies raised.

The Platinum Powerboat Club also participated in the Lake of the Ozarks Shoot Out with a  Loucks' Full Throttle  "Beach Bash" where Dean's donated "Full Throttle"-a comical painting of a creature "riding" a full-blown engine-was purchased by Jim Lee (who now owns two of Dean's paintings), for $1,300 which was donated to the Lake of the Ozarks Boy Scouts.

Puttin' on the Wish" in Ft. Myers, Florida saw the feature of another of Dean's creations, "Grape Jelly" including Bob Teague's personal Skater and a flowing purple jelly fish-similar to a  Grape Jelly painting that Dean gave to Cody Unser as a graduation gift this May.  "Cody loves jelly fish-and purple, so I did a special one for her, but I've found that other people like them too!" says Dean, awaiting the identify of the new owner of one of his sea-fantasy paintings.  "Dean has a talent of making creativity come to life," says Joy Schou, of the Platinum Powerboat Club, "We are so grateful for his vision, his contributions and all he has done for us!"

Other powerboat functions included a donation of a print from his musical painting collection, "Sax You" to the Poker Runs America Boyne City Poker Run in June. The event benefited Camp Quality USA and the artwork sold for $1,100.  Dean will also participate in the December 4-6 PRA Diamond Deal event that will benefit the Veterans of Foreign Wars and its fund to help the vets and families who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan.  "Last Night," an abstract artistic martini  Loucks' Last Night glass should raise a few toasts as well as funds for the VFW!   "Dean's work is just fabulous!" said PRA's Richard  Crowder.  As an art collector, he also noted that since the   "Last Night" print is the first, and may be the only-it's value is enhanced and Crowder hopes it will bring in a big price.  "This is such an exciting addition to our auction!" says Crowder, "We very happy that we have connected with Dean on this event!"

Closer to home, Dean has supported events by Gold Coast Bentley for the Mind Matter scholarship fund, where the donation of $500 purchased a print of his abstract fish, "2069." He donated "Floral Table" that sold for $1,200 at the Elcona Country Club which benefited a domestic abuse center in his home town of Elkhart, Indiana.  There and in other cities like Indianapolis, his work is also on display at Ruth Chris Steak House restaurants in a program that he hopes will be expanded into other parts of the country.
Coming Events

Camouflage Kids - Elkhart, Indiana, October 26
Dean will donate a specially designed piece for auction for Camoflage Kids, a national organization that support families and children whose parents are serving overseas in the US military.  Keynote speaker at the event is Indiana University Head Basketball Coach, Tom Crean.  Says Ray Stutz, co-founder of Camouflage Kids, "Dean is one of the most talented individuals I've ever met and combine that with his generosity and desire to help other people-it's amazing!"

The Concours d'Elegance - Winter Park, Florida, November 8
This prestigious auto show event, part of the national tour, sponsored by companies like AMG, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Porsche, Audi and the DuPont Registry, will benefit the Orlando Ballet and Winter Park Community Center.  A print of "Sax You" will be on display and Dean plans to bring more of his Auto collection which earned tremendous response while on display at the Conrad Hotel and at various events around the 2009 Indianapolis 500.
